Ladies, the person you will spend the most time with during your wedding week will be your photographer. I didn’t realize this until the actual wedding. So it’s of the utmost importance that he/she is cool, calm and collected, cause chances are you won’t be. Dave treated us more like his friends rather than his clients. He took the time to understand what was important to us to ensure he captured it, he kept us calm when issues arose (because that will happen) and he made the effort to include our immediate families in the process. He’s also a perfectionist; so those small pieces of hair unravelling, the smudged eyeliner, foundation lines, messy pocket squares - he knows what to look for and how to fix it.
Having Dave next to us on our wedding day was the best decision we ever made (alongside getting married of course)."

WHEN IT CAME TIME TO SELECT SOMEONE TO CAPTURE OUR DAY, DAVE WAS THE ONE AND ONLY PERSON THAT FELT MORE LIKE AN INSTANT FRIEND THAN A VENDOR. "DAVE ABREU WAS HANDS DOWN ONE OF MY FAVORITE VENDORS FROM OUR WEDDING. FIRST OF ALL, HE PROVIDES A 2 HOUR ENGAGEMENT SHOOT WHICH WAS GREAT NOT ONLY FOR THE PHOTOS, BUT ALSO FOR THE CHANCE TO GET COMFORTABLE WITH SOMEONE TAKING PHOTOS OF YOU AND YOUR PARTNER. WITH DAVE, THIS DIDN'T TAKE LONG AT ALL! HE'S FUNNY, HELPFUL, INTERESTING... BEFORE WE KNEW IT, WE FELT LIKE WE WERE ON A DATE AND THERE JUST HAPPENED TO BE SOMEONE TAKING PHOTOS THERE. THAT COMFORT SHONE THROUGH IN OUR PHOTOS. THEY WERE NATURAL, ROMANTIC, SWEET, CUTE... THEY CAPTURED US!
OUR WEDDING DAY WAS EVEN BETTER! BECAUSE OUR WEDDING PLANNER WASN'T VERY DETAILED - ORIENTED, DAVE HAD TO NOTICE HIMSELF THAT THE ITINERARY DIDN'T ALLOW FOR ENOUGH TIME TO TAKE GOOD 'GETTING READY' SHOTS. SO, ON HIS OWN ACCORD, HE ARRIVED EARLY. FROM THAT MOMENT, HE WAS PURE MAGIC. HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS HE DID FOR US WITHOUT US EVER ASKING:
- CLEANED UP BOTH ROOMS SO THAT THE PHOTOS WOULD LOOK NICER
- HAD HIS ASSISTANT GET A BOW TIE FOR MY RING BEARER BECAUSE THE ONE WE HAD DIDN'T QUITE LOOK RIGHT
- HAD HIS ASSISTANT GO OUT AND AND BUY ME 2 WEDDING VOW BOOKS TO INDULGE MY SILLY (LAST MINUTE) IDEA THAT MY VOWS SHOULD BE IN A BEAUTIFUL BOOK RATHER THAN TYPED ON A CUE CARD
- PLAYED DRAKE ON HIS PHONE BECAUSE I MENTIONED THAT'S MY 'PUMP UP' MUSIC
- TOOK CHARGE OF THE PRE WEDDING PHOTOS WITH FAMILY (AGAIN, BECAUSE MY WEDDING PLANNER WASN'T WELL ORGANIZED) AND HAD MY FAMILY (AND ME) SMILING AND LAUGHING WHILE DOING IT
- FIXED THE GIRLS' SAREES
- GAVE ME ADVICE ON HOW TO HOLD MY SAREE AND WEAR MY JEWELLRY
- HELPED MY FAMILY DETERMINE THE BEST WAY TO CAPTURE VIDEO AND EVEN OFFERED THEM HIS LENSE TO BORROW
- MADE TIME FOR A SECOND REVEAL WHEN I CHANGED FROM MY SAREE TO MY DRESS
- NOT TO MENTION, HIS PHOTOS REALLY DO CAPTURE OUR PERSONALITIES AND RELATIONSHIP IN A SWEET, ROMANTIC, CUTE WAY THAT IS TOTALLY US
I COULD GO ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT HOW MAGICAL DAVE MADE OUR WEDDING. HE WAS SO FUN AND THOUGHTFUL AND HE STEPPED UP WHEN NEEDED IN HIS QUIET, STRONG WAY.
